Star Wars, Lego and Photography three of my favourite things. It was therefore natural for me to try and put all the things I love together. So I thought well I have some Lego and that Lego has the Star Wars theme and I have a camera…..There it was an idea, theme and photoshoot all in one.
I started off with my the Clone Commander Cody that my brother bought for me as a Christmas present. Clone Commander Cody is not your traditional Lego character it is what they call a Lego Buildable figure. Its Lego but a character you build and get then play with. The Lego buildable figures can be moved into specific positions.
This is where I started……I had an idea of having a black background with the Clone Commander Cody Lego Buildable figure in specific poses. The poses had to make the buildable figure look like his was ready for battle.
Once I had the idea I started pulling the image together. I used a simple set-up of using a black background and a black acrylic base (So I could get some reflection of Clone Commander Cody on the floor) with two soft boxes attached to my flashguns. I utilised a further flashgun with no soft box to light the front of the figure.
So here are a selection of my favourite images from the shoot. I also had a play in photoshop and added some rain to the figure.
There is a great tutorial on YouTube on how to create rain in Photoshop.
